Privacy
The short version: the Academy is built to know as little about you as possible. You can read the entire Library without an account, without a cookie banner, and without being tracked. What little we keep, we keep for you — not to profile you, sell you, or measure you.
What we don’t do
We do not run behavioral analytics or advertising trackers. We do not set tracking cookies. We do not build a profile of what you read, how long you stay, or where you came from. We do not sell, rent, or share your data with anyone, and there are no third-party advertising or data-broker relationships of any kind. As a matter of principle, we do not attach browsing behavior to a person — ever.
What we collect (and why)
- Nothing, if you’re just reading. The Library is fully public. No account, no login, no cookie required.
- Your email — only if you choose to sign in or subscribe. We use it to send your one-time sign-in code and, if you opt in, the newsletter. That’s it.
- Your own work — only if you sign in. Your progress and the plans you build in Trailhead (goal statements, critical paths, briefs, story maps, phrase banks) are saved to your account so you can come back to them. They belong to you.
- A hashed sign-in signal. To stop bots from abusing the sign-in and subscribe forms, we record a one-way hash of your IP address for rate-limiting. It is never stored in a form that can be turned back into your address, and it is discarded on a rolling basis.
Trailhead and AI
Trailhead uses AI (Anthropic’s API) to run your guided intake and help you draft your plan. What you type is sent to that API to generate your response and is not used to train models. Your resulting artifacts are stored in your Map Room for you. Please avoid pasting information you would not want processed by a third-party API; the Academy is a training tool, not a secure vault.
Your control
You can read everything without an account. If you have one, you can delete it — and everything tied to it — yourself, at any time, from your account page. Deletion is immediate and removes your sign-in records, progress, and all your Trailhead work. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter with one click in any email.
Transactional email (sign-in codes, subscription confirmations) is sent through Resend. The newsletter is opt-in and confirmed by double opt-in; every issue carries a one-click unsubscribe.
